who was unable to attend due to the timing of a recent disaster on which she
served.
Scott Bonis led
the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

explained that there was a new DSHR Self Service site on line. He discussed
Training Prerequisites and DSHR Activity Requirements and Resources that
were all available on Cross Net.

and how to access the site on line. A new Dove asked what the acronym meant
and C.C. responded Disaster Services Human Resource.

C. C. then gave
the treasurer’s report. She stated that on September 16th the DOVES had
$4,498.00. We took in $8,423.95 and spent $9,820.00 on Training,
Merchandise, and other Expenses. On August 31, the Doves had $3,121.00. We
bought more shirts which depleted our account to little money left. The
treasurer’s report was accepted.
The Secretary’s
report was read. Jeff Fryrear made the motion it be accepted and Scott
Bonis seconded it.
C.C. then gave
the Membership Report. As of September 12th, the Doves had 486 members. As

would have 500 by the end of the day.
She explained
that Dove Membership Dues are good until the end of the year and that Doves
are required to have current Escapee membership.
The gathering
of the Doves in Quartzsite was discussed. Jeff Fryrear reported that there
were approximately 28 rigs there totaling 56 Doves if all were couples. The
weather had been cold and windy, but he reported that everyone had a good
time in spite of the weather.
Tom Marlatt
reported on the form “Request for Additional Funds” and the procedure for
filling it out and forwarding it to the national ARC and the timing
necessary.
C. C. announced
that we now have a new patch that we will sell for $4.00 and a Dove pin for
$2.00. She encouraged the membership to look at our merchandise.
C. C. said she
had been approached by the SW Service Area of American Red Cross about
having a representative from the Doves at the Balloon Festival and asked who
might be interested.
Ryan DeLine,
Director of Emergency Services for the Elkhart County Chapter of the
American Red Cross, was introduced. He expressed appreciation for the help
the Doves gave at their Exposition prior to the Escapade. At least 20 Doves
participated in that activity. The Doves also helped the chapter prepare
and completed some other needed activities for the chapter. He said that
Doves were welcome in their chapter in Elkhart.
Richard and
Rose Marie Hartman were named as Dove Training Coordinators for Gillette,
WY.
The topic of a
Dove Rally was discussed and there will be a membership inquiry to follow
up.
C. C. has
information about an Amish Dinner at Carriage House on either Monday or

thought that Monday night might be better. The menu needs to be chosen in
advance and the cost is $14 per person.
The Dove
treasurer asked for two volunteers who were not on the Dove Board to audit
the books and Mike Mitchell and Tom Marlett volunteered.
Under more new
business, President Larry Paton asked for volunteers to be Row
Representatives for the Escapade in Gillette, WY, next year. Ed and Karen
Thomas volunteered.
